I bought a 2001 cobra I bought to pull the engine/irs and swap to a 2001 GT. I'm also looking to part out the Cobra.

What parts do I need to keep from the Cobra for the swap, besides obviously the engine and irs?

Computer? Wiring harness? Throttle cable?

I believe both have the 3650 trans, but is the GT a 6 bolt flywheel vs 8 on the Cobra? So keep that as well?

Any assistance is helpful. Thank you.

Easiest way to dobthe swap , is use everything from the Cobra.
Wiring harnesses all the way to the back of the car , dash and cluster etc.

Agreed there's other ways but although this seems like more work it saves you a lot of questions about repinning plugs. Also you might not have to screw with the PATS if you having the matching ecu and cluster.

It also requires the ring around the key , (transponder ) .
I did this exact swap into my 91 Notch .
Everything worked like factory with no cut wires or repining

I did the realize wiring that ran all the way to the back of the car was different between the 2.

It might not be , but the 01 cobra has a different rear lamp configuration.
Has the amber turn signal, which is one more bulb and extra wiring .
If you have the parts , use them .
Cutting / splicing / repinning connections are not for every one .

Leave the harness connected to the motor.un hook the main wiring block from the fuse box and toss it on top of the motor then drop engine and trans together . disconnect gt harness at box and remove then plug it in.

you will need everything as stated before use everything from the cobra and then sale what you got left. that throttle cable is expensive to replace so becareful not to break it you will need that.
