my stock setup i ran with 4.30's but now after rebuilding and installing Hellion's twin 61 ball bearing kit i want to go down.

i bought 3.73's but i am still thinking these may be too tall..

3.55?

what are you guys running, do you like it or would you like to change?

when the car was stock with T45 and 4.30s the motor would fly through RPM's i couldnt imagine with the turbos it would be stupid and be in redline in seconds in all gears.

how would the 3.73s be?

and how would 3.55s be?

thanks

my tires are 26" with T45 for now, just trying to see what gear will be best all around, its a street car i think 3.73's will be fine if not i will swap to 3.55's and change the axles and differential then

this is why i am asking what others are using with their turbo setups to get an idea of what would be the best bet

I have twin 61's, had 3.73's and spent to much time shifting.
Switch to 3.27's and what a huge difference. Same hp levels seem so much faster

3.55's and 27 1/2" tires.

or......3.31's with a 27 1/2" tire, but you'll need to shift it higher to get the most out of it...

I've run the gambit. Went from 3.55's to 3.90's to 3.73's to 3.27's. Of all of them, the 3.27's are freaking crazy in a high horse car. She'll wind out forever and just pull and pull. Then you're doing 200+ and you better hope you got some brakes. If you have a stock ratio T56 and stock 275/40's, you'll reach 207 mph in 5th gear...around 150 at the top of 4th. I hit 146 @ 6500 rpm in 4th. Honestly, I'm switching back to 3.55's. The 3.27's are GREAT!!! BUT!!! they can be really doggy if you expect quick throttle response and quick passing power. BUT!!! They also don't make you lose control (rear end break loose) at 90 mph when you smash it in 3rd...unless you have chitty tires. 3.55's give the best all around performance IMO. And they're more forgiving at the track. With the 3.27's I would have AMAZING trap speed, but ET would suffer because I couldn't get the car to 60'. Best bet man, go with the 3.55's...and 26" tires at the track.

FWIW, I can still do 193 in 5th with the 3.55's...193 mph is coincidentally what a stock Hayabusa tops out at. Ask me how I know this.

Thats what I run now (3.27's & N20)...but like I said, the 3.55's IMO will be the best all around.

so you boost in 5th:rolling: and havent' had any tranny problems?

Nope. knock on wood.:poke: Big difference in our power numbers though. I'm one of the low power guys at aorund 800 rwhp. I've never hit it with 26-27 psi.

Although I aint stock either...these are the mods to just the tranny/clutch:
D+D Carbon Blocking rings 1-2, 3-4 synchros
D+D Billet Keyways 3-4 synchro
Liberty 26 spline input shaft
Lethal Performance Hardened steel TO bearing retainer sleeve
Centerforce DFX clutch
Ford Racing Billet Steel Flywheel
Centerforce Throwout bearing
Pro 5.0 Shifter with T-handle
Fiore Quick Release Quadrant
Fiore FW adjuster
