Simple question:

What would get me (Mods in Sig) a better 60'/Qtr mile time for a rear DR set up?

A 17x9 (275/40/17) or 17x10.5 (315/35/17)

I got a 1.777 with a 17x8 Hoosier DR. This is the 2nd set of wheels I'm currently working on right now and need more info from you guys. Thanks!

A big n little setup with some stiff wall slicks, a good 6-6500 rpm launch... Good set of adjustable shocks all the way around. N some bracing/ stiffing of the rear suspension if that hasn't been done already...

With enough suspension and setup you could prolly get it to hook on some 17" drag radials, but being n/a and need to launch at a high rpm, drag radials don't have enough give an 17" tires don't have enough sidewall to take the launch you need.

I was able to run roughly the same time as you on some 15" nittos 555r's but could never really launch hard (4.10's) always around 4-4500 and had to slip it just right. To hard she'd spin, to soft she'd bog.

Now I'm on some 26x8.5x15 Stiffwall good year slicks and even at 5-5500 it's hooking to hard and bogging the car... Us n/a guys really really need to launch at about 6500 to keep the rpms turning... But if your like me I don't like the idea of that, but u want them times that's what has to b done!

Ask svt Camr 98 n/a svt n all the fast n/a guys what they launch at

6k or above or you will b stuck in the 1.7x range

Oh n also, being your n/a the wider tire will actually hurt you more than help I'd think, being 300 wheel or so. I vote for getting it to hook on a smaller/ skinnier tire

Wow, thanks for all the great info. I'll run a 17x9 over a 17x10.5 if I have to run that set up.

What would be the best rear tire for me a 15x8 or 15x10? What are you running? Thanks!

I have a 15x8 race star wheel with a Goodyear 26x8.5x15 slick. With 4.56's n 8 total passes on the setup I managed the best in my sig. N 1 1.69 60' but I have still yet to launch the car at 6-7k.... 5-5500 is as high as I go, n she still bogs.

But I agree with mr. Patience... 26" tire if staying n/a, 28" is just too much tire for our low hp n low tq 281's to power.

For N/A guys a 26x10.5x15 worked best. Ive hit 1.46 on that setup with Strange all around with 300 hp. That was through a converter with a about 4500 rpm launch with a 5500 stall.
