P0401 - EGR Flow Insufficient Detected The EGR system is monitored during steady state driving conditions while the EGR is commanded on. The test fails when the signal from the DPF EGR sensor indicates that EGR flow is less than the desired minimum. Vacuum supply
EGR valve stuck closed
EGR valve leaks vacuum
EGR flow path restricted
EGRVR circuit shorted to PWR
VREF open to D.P.F. EGR sensor
D.P.F. EGR sensor downstream hose off or plugged
EGRVR circuit open to PCM
VPWR open to EGRVR solenoid
D.P.F. EGR sensor hoses both off
D.P.F. EGR sensor hoses reversed
Damaged EGR orifice tube
Damaged EGRVR solenoid
Damaged PCM
Perform KOER self-test and look for DTC P1408 as an indication of a hard fault. If P1408 is not present, look for contamination, restrictions, leaks, and intermittents

Thanks bud, Ill take some pics of the EGR and see if I notice anything wrong just looking at it.

Would that cause it to idle a little weird?

damn bruce, that sounded very high tech...well done.

I am not smart...lol.. I just cut and pasted from the how to section..There is a thread on all codes..Figure it would help a little..

I would get rid of the egr system and clear the code out using the predator and shuting off the egr too.

(Forth pic)

That is the DPFE sensor, most commonly associated with this code. The new (replacement) ones are now black plastic. This sensor actually measures the EGR gas flow by measuring the pressure differential between the two tubes (one on either side of an orifice in the EGR tube).

im dumb and dont even know what tube you mean man :(

help me lol im useless.

The ERG tube is the rusty looking silver tube with the large nut on it in the middle right of your first pic. Bruce's concern (I think) is the dark spot at the nut/tube joint.

If you shut it off using the predator would it solve the problem?Just curious

Think thats the problem?

BINGO!!

We have a winner. I had that happen on mine too (forgot all about it until I saw the pic). I cut mine and spiced a 2" length of vacuum hose.

I believe so. Killing EGR in the tune shoud disable all related sensors and signals. On the EGR delete, you should be left with only the Baro sensor.

Get your self a cap to block off the plenum and rip all of the EGR crap out. Here is mine...Makes changing plugs alot easier..
