for an 11.99, it takes at least 420 horsepower with at least a 1.89 60 ft. with great driving. Obviously if you have more power, hook up, and drive well, getting deep into the 11's shouldn't be a problem.

A buick with a tow rope. :D No it looks like you might have it in the car already. I would concentrate on getting a good launch and the rest will take car of itself. Good luck and don't break anything.

I'd say you are already there with some practice........With gears you would be deep in the 11's.

18-14psi in the DRs, heat 'em for at least 5 seconds. ~5k launch slipping the clutch. Your call on the need to powershift or not. Better times will come from it...

True dat  although I haven't experienced wheel hop personally when using DRs or ETs properly inflated. If you feel it, LIFT

Why does it take so much hp for an 03-04 cobra to get into the 11's??? I have seen 03-04 Machs with 100 less rwhp run 11's with no problem.. Why is it so hard for the cobras??? My car makes around 430rwhp and it runs very low 11's...

Weight is an issue.

mach 1 also has a live axle....and we all know a well built 8.8 can make a less HP car a 60 ft/traction beast. it takes some pedal dancing to launch a IRS car, not to mention positive displacement blowers make 1) instant torque and 2) shit loads of it down low

You want an 11 sec timeslip? GO buy a midpipe, catback, intake and some slicks..guarantee you it will be better than an 11.99.

Of course this is with the driver mod.

Other than the obvious answer, can someone explain exactly how one should powershift?

Theoretically a Cobra with an intake and exhaust should hit 11's. It takes roughly 111-112 mph to hit 11.99 from my experiences.

I cut a 1.59 60 foot with my IRS. stock 3.55,braced and level 5 axles, my buddy has the identical car almost his is an 04 switched to solid axle, 3.73, cant match my 60s even though he is 100 lbs lighter, gets more wheelspin. My car squats and goes!!!
