looking to buy a camera by the end of the month, looking at Canons since I heard they are the best.

Go to a box store and find one that fits your hands. Then cross check pricing from Best Buy, Amazon and BHphotovideo.com. Most cameras at that price point are fairly comparable to each other, so it really comes down to what fits you the best.

For photo and video in the Canon lineup, I'd recommend the 7D.
