dont really know what happen. there is only one way for it to go in and in all the way in, but somehow it broke today while i was on the way to work and my miles and speedometer stopped.so i just finished putting in the stock speedo gear. My gf is buying me a sct this week so that shoould fix the speedo.any ways here are the pics......

FYI, on our cars an sct can't fix the speedo. You have to get a speedcal. the 99+ were electronic I believe, but ours are mechanical.

that's typical of that speedo gear. They only last so long.

I think the Speedcal will be more accurate. I still have the stock plastic gear in mine.

When I switched to the proper speedo gear in my car I pulled out a white one that looks exactly like yours, all chewed up to hell in the same spots!

where are the speedo gears located? tranny?

Driver side of the tranny, there is a electric connection and his held down by one bolt, then you just pull the gear out.
