Just heard about this tune and was wondering how I can run this in my car cause E85 is hard to get sometimes. I have 1050x injectors and vmp dual BAP Ngauge. Anybody running this tune? Do you like it? Appreciate it for any help
I run a KB 21 volt BAP and ID1050s and I'm just finishing up my pump gas tune to go E85, my tuner said that ID1050s will be good.
The only tuner I've heard that does a flex fuel tune for the 13/14s was Shaun at AED.
I'll keep you posted, I have a griptec 2.5 pulley on so hopefully it won't be to crazy. I know on my data list I can't see my IDC but I watch my fuel pump percentage, worst case if that gets to high drop to I'll go to a 2.6 pulley.Curious to see what IDC% will look like. Report back please. I know Lund says 1050's will probably be OK, but they really push 1300's to give some headroom when i asked about like 750ish whp on E85. If that is the case, that knocks down my conversion cost by like $700 or more.
From what Shaun at AED said is the factory A/F sensors can read how much ethanol is being burned and that's how he tunes for a flex fuel tune.The big thing with a true FlexFuel car is you need to install a alcohol percentage sensor in the fuel lines. This then allows the tuner to set up the program to adjust Stoich on the fly as the percentages changes To my knowledge the problem will be the factory PCM on a GT500 doesn't allow any input for this sensor and the programming inside of it may not be able to do the on the fly calculations for the changes.
Now if you're going to use an aftermarket electronic fuel management system such as a MoTec then it is easy to program this. The down side is it becomes very expensive to install this system correctly.

To my knowledge all the car manufactures use sensors in the fuel system to read the alcohol percentage of the fuel to make compensations for the percentage of alcohol in the fuel before you're injecting it into the cylinders. I wouldn't trust the readings of the O2 sensors in the exhaust to be as accurate after the fact the fuel has been burnt in the cylinder. So filled the car up on E85 today, she is running perfect with the ID1050s, the highest my fuel pump duty cycle got was about 79% at 6k and the fuel tested at E90 so you'll be good to do ID1050s with a 21volt BAP on your Shelby.Curious to see what IDC% will look like. Yes Sir Shawn is doing my work and ya it’s kinda slow, but I’ve been slow getting the car to him, and the money is running low, I hope my car runs as I’m doing the full motec and traction control, along woth the wastegate mod on my 4.7 KB, I’d love to have the pftzner gearbox but I can swing 15k lol just trying to get it running at this point, every time I talk to Shawn I end up buying something else for the darn car, he’s a perfectionist but there’s a fine line and I’m right at it hahaDag gone I believe I know who you're getting to do the work after looking at your sensor. Shawn does great work, but he can be a little slow LOL
I don't think you'll be the least bit disappointed with what he does for you. I bought a piece of property and have been investing a lot of time and resources in that for the last year, so the car hasn't been a priority. I'd love to do a MoTec flexfuel ECU with traction control with a Pfitzner Performance Gearboxs sequential conversion with a push/pull shifter ........the only problem is the costs. Until my wife gets her new house the car isn't getting much done to it, I may put a cage in it this coming new year if the costs of doing it aren't too expensive
