Going to West Point next spring for about 6 days. Any members have suggestions on which airport to fly into, where to stay, historic sights to see, places to eat?

Check out their web site. They usually list " where to stay" links.

I've already done that.

Like I stated, "Any members have suggestions on which airport to fly into, where to stay, historic sights to see, places to eat?"

Spent 3 years there as a kid. The entire base is beautiful.
Are you staying in base at the historic hotel?
If army football is playing at home, those games are always fun.

Contact your congress critter and see if he can set you up any VIP type tours. I know that this could be done a few years back, who knows now days.

Thanks Mike! We'll be there everyday, so being closer is desirable.
Is Stewart the best place to try to fly into?

Pleasure to watch business (Sandhurst).

I find it humorous how civilians think it is cool place to visit and stay on a military installation, when it fact active duty military wants to get as far from it when they go on leave.

It is a historic area, so have fun.

My family and I are flying into Newark next May and driving up the river to West Point for my cousin's graduation. So I would recommend flying into Newark. lol

I thought it was the closest and it is listed as the "official" airport for WestPoint so I'm guessing that, yeah, it's the best place to land. That said, inbound flights might be limited, so you could fly into Newark (a major airport) and drive, but it's 60 miles to drive. Not so bad when you consider the flights (and maybe cheaper fares) that would be available to you.

Have a good time!!!

So true, I was at Ft Knox for almost a year and never wanted to see where they keep the gold one day while I was there HAHA.
