picked it up at wholesale from my dealership on trade. one owner bought new in 97. no accidents and runs strong. will be driving this back and forth from work to retire the cobra since its for sale. this will be my only car once the cobra is gone while i wait for a deal on 08 shelby gt500. and yes i know the wheels are horrible but they wont be on there for long. next week i have a set of black motorsport c5 z06 wheels coming with polished lip. then a little window tint, dual ram air intake, catback and tune and ill call it a worthy daily driver. i have only temp crossed over to the dark side guys!

Very nice, A4

I don't think it's an automatic.. since my 98 C5 (that was an auto) never said "brake before shift" on the DIC (drivers information center)

also, the C5 is one hell of a car.. and I think you'll really like yours. The LS1 is an awesome engine, and IMHO the best production pushrod engine built (well the engines built off of it, such as the 505 hp 427 LS7 in the new Z06)

38mpg on the HWY

Dosent sound too dark to me

The 6spd LS1 cars get kickass mileage for sure (low-30s/high-20s on the highway), but I've never seen 38mpg with a 3.42:1 rear axle and you couldn't get the 2.73:1 with a 6spd. Has anyone actually gotten mileage that high?

I highly doubt it. Its not a 4 cyl honda. Maybe its a typo. I have seen them get 22-28mpg highway on a long distance trip...

I use to get 26-28mph with my 6spd SS. Buddy just drove a used C5 6spd back from Virginia and averaged 29-31mpg. The lighter weight helps over the F Body cars. I just don't see 38mpg. My 4cyl Accord does well enough to get 35-36mpg on the highway!

120k miles and it is an a4. i love the car actually. gets great gas mileage and i just strapped it to the dyno and is very healthy! 298rwhp 318rwtq bone stock down to the air filter! not bad for a car rated at 345bhp and through an automatic! my tuner says with a cold air complete kit and a custom dyno tune he can have me 340rwhp all day long with the kind of power it made

How do you like it compared to the Cobra? I was really close to buying one of those instead of my '03, and I still wouldn't mind owning one.. How about fit/finish and ride quality?

Congrats on the new DD!

ride qual sucks but its a totally different feel... and you get two different looks in each car. honestly i get more attention in the vette than i do the cobra, and i didnt think that was possible.
