its been awhile since I have posted. last time I posted it was on the new turbo setup. still factory long block other then head studs. upgraded to a 8087 Bullseye turbo, did scott rod panels. was hoping to break into the 8's this year with this setup but it did not happen. I ended up breaking the factory oil pump gears. thought I caught it in time, so I put triangle speed shop billet gears in it. started it up and sure enough it spun a rod bearing! oh well, learning experience. I should of known to put them damn gears in, a lot of people have been saying turbo autos wont break the gears. they were wrong!! so now I'm building the motor, keeping it a 4.6 stock cobra crank, molnar billet h beam rods, diamond 10.5:1 pistons, turbo cams, livernois ported heads and gonna try to squeeze a holley ECU in there : D goal is to just keep it a 1000hp street driven "race car" for the most part LOL 95% driven on the street with occasional track days with friends just for personal best's. Anyways, other then this little mishap its been a outstanding summer with friends! my wife and I are expecting a baby in march, finished up the 2.5 year long 66 mustang project, and occasionally throwing in some house remodeling. hope everyone else is having a good year and I will post some engine build pics shortly ;)

Car looks great, sucks you hurt the motor. You said you didn't break into the 8's, but how fast did you go with the 8087 before you hurt the motor?

unfortunately I didn't even get to make a pass with it after I got the converter tightened up. I was testing the trans brake on the street when I broke the oil pump gear. I was a couple hundred feet from my house LOL

Car look amazing, love the wheels and laundry bag on the back. you going to switch over to an aluminum block while you're at it? How many miles did you get out of the stock motor?

thankyou everyone! I am keeping the stock iron block. reasons being i know the aluminum teskid's and aluminator blocks can handle big power easily. but what i have been told lately from a few guys making big power that the aluminum blocks tend to twist, or stress from high hp resulting in main bearing wear much more then a iron block. I'm not really worried about the weight savings as much as i am of longevity of the motor. so this is why i am running the iron block. the stock motor has about 48k miles on it. it had much much more life left in it if i didn't break that oil pump gear resulting in a hurt rod bearing. ctgreddy has 100k miles on stock long block with a 3.4L crusher, 4r70w, SRA and it runs 9.82 without even trying!! these motors ROCK!!!!!
