I have a 97 Cobra. Ok near the pass. side headlight under where the intake is.. i hear a weird noise. can anyone tell me whats down there? it sounds like a pump or something? and it sounds like metals rubbing, something is turning with metals rubbing. i dont know so any help would be great thanks!

Does it happen when you drive normally, or when you turn?
like when i start up the car, just sittin there i hear it.. i dont hear it when im drivin, but that prolly due to exaust noise!!
Do you guys have the same air pump that our 5.0 does? It's on the passenger side and it sounds like a pump, because it is. 
its a sound thats not there all the time, but it dosent sound like it should be there when it is..
Maybe that is your A/C compressor. The compressor is on the passenger's side. Mine makes a metallic noise sometimes. I have a 97 GT.
its under where like a K&N would be, is that where the air pump is?? what maybe causing this sound? loose hose or something?? or may it be the unit it self?
