i have been doing alot of research on trying to find a new intake for my 1999 contour svt.

Weapon*R Racing Development

will this work? any suggestions?
parts are really hard to find for this car
im used to having a dsm

that is technically for the non-svt. don't both with weaponr.

you can find a nice K&N setup but its pricey, search for cougar intakes. most just get a maf adaptor and a k&n. or you can go with the npg cold air intake.

the stock intake is better than an aftermarket "cai" unless the aftermarket puts the filter out in the fender in my opinion. otherwise your sucking up hot air...

you'll find the NPG cold air intake there.

i hear the weapon R setup is nice and it has a filter box that will act as a nice heat shield, and they have good dryflow filters last time i looked, but that intake kit is expensive.

i went with a lightning airbox with a K&N drop in, with a V8 SHO accordian tube, and a 80mm lightning maf (1st gen)

of course this setup requires you to relocate your battery, and tune for a new maf :p

on an 86 degree day very humid.

seems i'm limited by my Y pipe (weapon R which collects at 2.5", needs to collect at 3")

and my intake manifold (falls off after 6200, i'm going with an escape manifold)

i'm hoping for 240 to the wheels or more this fall in more optimal conditions.

this was on a dyno dynamics dyno as well, which supposedly reads fairly low.
