Which version do you guys like better?

1985 original version
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ne7fPpxAnuM"]YouTube- We Are the World - Lionel Richie, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson[/ame]

or

2010 version
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Glny4jSciVI"]YouTube- We Are The World 25 For Haiti - Official Video[/ame]

Im 20 years old so i wasnt even born for the original but i do like it better than the current version. I dont even think it should have been remade but im sure its helping raise tons of money for Haiti.

Definitely the original version. I was liking the new one, until they started in with the autotune crap, had to turn it off.

The original version gave me chills to watch, so many TRUE ARTISTS it really was amazing when you watch it now. I haven't seen that video in years, I'm old enough to remember when that was current like many of you. The new version started off ok but putting Lil Wayne and the rest of the funky bunch with synthesized voices in the song is an insult to performers like Barbara Streisand and the legendary SINGERS from the original song. I prefer the newer version if the rap shit wasn't in there. I do love the older version too.

Best one was the "We Are The World 2005 for New Orleans". Oh wait...

both songs are lame. Out of all the great hits he's had, you'd think Michael Jackson could come up with a better sounding song. HEEHEE! JAMONNAAA!!

Both are horribly cheesy and I never did like the original but I did like what they were trying to do.

The original has no Autotune. The new one is autotuned to death. Freakin irritating

Well, they're obvious;y trying to market this one to a broader fanbase, but God Damn = Wyclef Jean needs to eat a bullet! He ruined his portion of the song on all counts. I agree the Autotune was unnecessary but the rap portion kinda spiced up the prokect.

With that said, I still prefer the original "We are...". Sometimes things should never be redone.

Old ftw. The new one was cool till Kanye showed up. you can never beat the originals. More heart involved back then.

the original was about uniting the world to try to end world hunger and disease. it had heart and soul.

the new one is to raise money for a single shithole country that has been getting millions in foreign aid for decades, and somehow think thats gonna make a difference.

considering i truly believe haiti can go **** themselves and that shitty things happen to shitty places (new orleans, indonesia tsunami, up-and-coming cali earthquake, etc), so can the 2010 version of the song.
