There is too much confusion with this setup.

Can those with Walbro 405's running E85 please provide the following:

1. How many miles on this setup?

2. What issues have you had?

3. What preventative maintenance have you done?

I've heard you can run them with 15% shorter life.
I've heard you can run them no problems at all.
I've heard you can't run them

Vendors......can you please clear this up and put in writing for us?

Thanks

I run the fore 1200hp system with the twin 405s, about 1000 miles on the setup. No problems other than pumps are loud. Makes 720rwhp ;-)
^ A very happy customer!

I am not concerned with noise level of the 405's, just that they are proven to work with E85.

How many of you have had failures with the 400's/405's and E85 ???

Hope more users and vendors chime in

walbro makes a 400 lph e85 specific pump...the 485...

fwiw, Ive had walbro tell a buddy that all their pumps have been e85 compatible for awhile now....so its possible even walbro doesnt know...or at least their people answering their phones.

I used 255's on e85 and they worked great and have a superb reputation and walbro says they arent e85 compatible.

Well it doesn't make sense for a pump to die at 500-600 miles other than the pump not being fully e85 compatible. Don't u think?

I think you cant say that. All high volume manufactured items tend to have a 10-20% fail rates.

or, a wiring issue or some other issue. Too many people have thousands upon thousands of miles on them for there not to be a known e85 compatibility issue.

your case is rare for a reason

Which part number your pumps have? What's with the 405 and the 400lph? I have the 400lph walbro not 405

At the time before taking the pumps out, the pumps were getting voltage just fine. Once the pumps were out, the shop tried to turn them on and they were just dead

Walbro 405's ( no idea which model #, came with the 1200whp Lethal Return Kit purchased like 6 months back ? ) I just run a different fuel filter than what comes with their kit because I didn't want a paper filter with E85.

My new build has never seen regular pump gas, only E85. Roughly a 1,000 miles, no problems as of yet.

It was sold as a complete system so I do not have an individual part number. Call Justin at Fore and I'm sure he can answer your questions.

The 400lph pump by Walbro/TI also referred to as a 405lph pumps by some is the F90000262.

I run the 400lph pumps in my 03 Cobra and 2013 GT500. I've got several hundred street miles on my Cobra but not the 13. Other than a dirty paper filter my cobra runs great. Also no issues with the 13.
