current setup
-bored .020 over
-Manley H-beam
-JE forged flat tops
-Ported polished heads/intake
-V-1 Si trim w/ FMIC
-42# injectors
Car made 465 on 93 at 12.34 psi
Anybody have a similar setup? I feel like this setup should be putting down more power

I’m talking to other people with similar setups well over 500, that blower supports up to 700hp I have a 2.87 pulley on it I was thinking I’d get more boost out of it

That sounds pretty close. I made ~440whp on a mustang dyno with a V1 Strim @ 10 lbs on 91.

Timing is power.... you're gonna be limited by 93.

What's total timing at max boost??

So he's probably got you at 28-30* total and is pulling 1* per/lb because you're limited by 93.

Tuner is probably doing that out of safety and caution/longevity.

Definitely more in it if you want to run better fuels. I switched over to E85
Run the same 28-30 total out of boost, but the E85 let's me not even start to pull timing until 3-5psi.. and on my soft street tune I pull .8 degree/lb. Non i/C fyi.

So apples to apples I'm around 23* @ 12 psi

Point is THAT'S ALOT of Fn power being left on the table by fuel choice.
Could maybe talk to him and get a 2nd tune on 110 or q16, if you don't want to update your fuel system.

Good luck hope this helps... and if you're happy just enjoy the car fwiw.

What did you have to do to switch over to e85, and what kind of longevity do you have with that fuel as well as fuel system component longevity, I don’t know much about e85 fueled cars

Alot.. ID1000 injectors, 535lph intank, replaced feed and returns 8an feed 6an return, modified quantum hanger, ptfe lines and fitting front to back.
Upgraded wiring... have a BAP but haven't needed to use it.

It's alot. I probably should've just done a tune on q16 but...whatever.. my car had a 255 and a Trex so it needed updating.
I've been on E85 for 3 years... I just fill it up over the winter and let it sit.
Pia though.

Yeah.... go over to yellowbullet, people stopped running intercoolers as soon as they started.

Probably causing 2-3psi drop.

So many factors, you made so many improvements with airflow and efficiency is why the boost is lower.. My car makes 23psi, but yet I'm making a ton of power.. and it's about to be more.. So boost and efficiency go hand in hand.. You need E85 and a bigger head unit

When I had my JT trim I made 910rwhp on 16psi and 17* of timing on E85 lol

I ahve very similar setup but just a V1 S trim. I made 452 at 5800rpm. That was 8.5lbs with a 3.12 pulley. My intercooler sucks....

that’s what doesn’t make sense to me, I’m Intercooled as well with a bigger head unit and more boost and your not far off my HP number

If you're only making 12psi on the smallest pulley....you're slipping or something.

Those are stock motor #'s
