Just curious seen a lot of talk and video of the blower lately I do plan on upgrading my car soon ( 800RWHP goal ) what’s the big difference if I get my trinity blower ported change the pulley and have all the supporting mods. Few folks told me keep my blower and few told me to upgrade it and that’s why I am making this post to hear feedback from Shelby owners.

What fuel are you running? 800 out of a ported Trinity is easily doable on E85. If you’re running pump 93 I’d say go Gen3R. No way you’re touching 800 with a Trinity without some other mods (cams, etc).

The Gen3R is a way more efficient blower than the Trinity TVS and I love my Gen3 TVS, but if you're going to do cams and E85 it might not be worth it.

IMO it never makes sense to race port (Elbow bump) a trinity, as your paying nearly $1000 for the port job plus the pain of shipping it twice jsut to essentially have a Gen2R which is still slightly better. If anything sell the trinity and buy a Gen2R if not the Gen3 or R.

Short Answer is Yes, but for added value we have done some testing on an engine dyno with built 5.4L and 5.8L combinations using the Trinity 2.3L and the 2.65L Gen3 and Gen3R. We saw around 1150 HP with a 2.3L max effort. The Gen 3 made about 1250 HP and the Gen3R made over 1340 HP! Some of these gains were made by using bigger throttle bodies but that is also the benefit of having the newer, bigger VMP unit!

It's going to be much easier to make 800 RWHP with the bigger blower, working more efficiently cooling air charge temps and decreasing risk of detonation.

A reliable 800hp 5.8 really should have a built lower end.
If your goal is 800rwhp on a cammed 5.8 on E85, the stock blower will do that all day.
My built 5.8 and 2.3 Gen2R made over 950rwhp.
So, save your money on the blower as a cammed 5.8 with supporting mods is pricey. Once you have the 800+ 5.8, the blower swap will get you to 1000hp relatively easily.
Now, if you have the cash and/or built 5.8 with supporting mods already, no doubt get the 3R.
