Vinyl "stainless steel" inserts

Is there anything bad about these compared to the actual stainless steel inserts? I'm looking to maybe save a few dollars and get the vinyl stainless steel inserts for $24 or so unless there is anything bad about them. If there is I'll go for the 60-some dollar real ones.

They wont last as long, and they are prone to being blown off by high pressure water. Other than that should be fine.

i have a $10 set of chrome ones off of ebay on my car and they have held up great, several trips to the car wash with them on and they havent budged. Now they dont shine quite like the actual ones, but I plan on switching them out for some black chrome stainless steel inserts

Thanks for the link. I've considered the black ones for my silver car, but after looking at some, just wasn't impressed. These, on the other hand, will look great on my Cobra. Something different....

I'm going to get some if the price ever goes down. Maybe I'll just get the black painted ones.

I have black inserts in mine from the factory, and they've held up well for the last 4 years. I think the metal ones look better though.

So is it worth it to go with the vinyl for now to save some money and get the real stainless ones down the road?
