Vehicle ownership

Hey guys I have a plate # of an SUV and I would like to find out who owns it. Is there any place online that I can go to? Would any of our SVTP officers like help a brother out? This is not for any malicious reasons btw.

Thanks!

Plate #'s are a matter of public record, I believe you can request the owner of such plate for a fee from your DMV or clerks office.

As for myself, I'm sorry but I cannot look up the plate # for you. Ethical reasons, etc.

They are not a matter of public record in CA due to our stiff anti-stalking laws and rightfully so.

I could run it, but I won't.

That's alright guys

I'm good. It was hard as hell to do here in Cali. I got the same answer from my cop friends. It really wasn't even for me so it's cool.

It's Flat Illegal Here

To give out that information except to those authorized by law to have it....and those authorized HAVE to have a need to know. For example, Officer Jones runs tag to find out who the sweet looking girl in Cobra is and where she lives so that he can "meet" her. The "former" officer is in lot of trouble..........
