Valvoline MERCON V ATF or Valvoline DEX/MERC ATF for T-45

This should not be this hard. The ford dealer said that my 1998 T-45 uses Motorcraft MERCON V however, a lot of other people say to use DECRON III (if you can find it) and to stay away from a Synthetic oil as the T-45 doesn't really like that time of ATF fluid.

Any thoughts?

I put royal purple snychromax in mine when i first bought it..no problems...I've heard you can use dextron III in it too...i was thinking about switching over to dextron III this summer.

I used the motrocraft mercon V. I wonder if I should be.

Cool....I think I may stick with DEX III/MERC. I like the Valvoline product line.
