Do a leak down check. Most part stores rent them.
how would the car act i have the heads off right now
If the heads are off and cams are out, you can spray brake cleaner into the valve port and check the other side for any type of poor seal. You will see the brake cleaner seeping thru. Why do you suspect poor valve seat seal?
