For a 2007 is Air intake temp a valid PID?

If so why would it not read a value in livelink

Rest of my selected PIDs are reading so it's not an overall comms issue with the computer.

Thanks

There are a couple/few you may find in LiveLink.

Ambient

Air Intake Temp

Downstream Intake Temp

Right, and I did, but the Air Intake Temp, which I thought was for the air charge temp data point, reads nothing on my car.
So I have the wrong PID, or an issue with reading it. Thats what Im trying to figure out.

Loading the Config file Jon sent me this morning and see what is in it.

What I found to log in Live Link was

  1. INLET AIR TEMP
  2. intake air temp
  3. ACT
  4. ACT2

But I can not find a factual definition of what these PID's are sensing ..

Is INLET AIR TEMP taken at the pre IC?
Is intake air temp Post IC?

[*]INLET AIR TEMP (all CAPS just means it takes up more memory in logging, go with lower case like below)
[*]intake air temp (IAT, Intake Air Temp is the air temperature at the Mass Air Flow Meter)
[*]ACT (Air Charge Temp is the same thing as IAT)
[*]ACT2 (Air Charge Temp 2 is the post intercooler air temperature)

Thank you, thats what I needed.

I,m in class now, but I'll look at the data saved last night later.. have about 73 min saved.

ACT2 was in a scale and unit that did not look like deg F...

WIll post some of what I found.

So here is a snap shot of the same time in data logging, different screens.
The first one is ACT in blue, Intake Air Temp in red.
GT50016Aprsnap.jpg

And the numbers make sense to me as they relate to each other.

The next one is same time frame, but showing ACT2
GT50016AprACT2.jpg

and the numbers (scale or unit) make no sense.
If ACT2 is reading
(Air Charge Temp 2 is the post intercooler air temperature)
What the hell is the scale or unit measure it is recording that had 5 places left of the decimal?

At Data time 267 (seconds) I had:
Intake air temp of ; 86 deg F
ACT of; 86.31
AND ACT2 of ; -32,033 ....... Negative Thirty-two thousand and thirty-three what I have no idea.....

But if true,, Man that Revan / C&R H/E is doing a hell of a job cooling the charge :rolling:

5 decimal placed left of the .

Im recording Still trying to figure this one out..
Any Help?
I did some data logging today..
And the ACT2 data is still confusing me.
The MAF AIT numbers make sense, Im in the 112deg or so range today.
But the ACT2 numbers are ACT2 20843.000 - 31010.000

I must have either the PID wrong or something else going on?

Thoughts?

yep, it's on earlier cars, but later ones don't have it.

?? Ahhh What?

What are you considering "earlier" and what are you calling "later"

And are you saying a 2007 GT500 does not have a down stream Air Charge Temp sensor?

I get a sensor reading... it just does not seem to read in a range that makes sense for deg Fahrenheit, like the AIT's read.

Bottom line.

What are the correct PID's for IAT, AIT at MAF and ACT after the SC for a 2007 GT500?

Thanks

'11 and up can't get IAT2. I wish, but unfortunately, no bueno.

Oh, ok, Thanks.

Any input in the questions posed?

I'm no expert, but it should be reading. I know RTSteve datalogs his 2007's IAT2 (downstream) and I'm sure many others do too. The sensor output will likely read in volts, which is corresponds to a tabled IAT2 value. Have you checked that the sensor is putting out what is considered to be readable by the PCM? Do you know what those values are? Seems like a good starting point, unfortunately I don't know what those are myself? A tuner should have them handy though. Or maybe a Ford Tech will chime in.

Wish I could be of more help. I just stuck my nose in because I know it should be an obtainable value...

Found this on here while do a search.. I'm having the same issue with reading ait2 on my X4. It reads with a 5 number configuration in Fahrenheit? I called SCT and couldn't get much help from them and was told to update my device and see if that will fix it. Anyone else solve this problem reading ait2

I had the same issue when I got my X4 and posted here about it as well.
It turns out its a software issue on SCTs part, someone said he talked to them and they are working on it (presumably).

Try updating, maybe they've fixed it, and let me know cause I don't have mine at the moment.
I got aeroforces interceptor to monitor IAT2 among other things at all times so thats one solution.
