Valentine V1 guys - direct power?

Hey guys,

Just got my V1 and am wanting to hook up the direct power set up. What wire would you guys recommend for hooking the direct cable hook up into? I don't want to hurt anything and I want the power to be on whenever the car is on.

The direct wire kit I'm using is the one from Valentine - it has a pinch clip that will pinch onto an existing wire and then I slide the V1 power into the clip for power. Then I find somwhere else to screw the ground cable.

Just get your test light out and start probing the wires. Look for a wire that's hot only when you turn the key on. I tapped into one of the wires under steering wheel that go to the ignition switch. I just grounded it on the metal frame under the dash with a screw. It very simple. The direct wire kit should have a fuse already so it should be good to go.
