What do yall think of having a set of used 4.10s installed?

do you know the person you got them from? If so, then maybe if you knew that they weren't abused. But if you don't then i wouldn't, too risky.

If you know what car they're from you'll be ok. I have a buddy with used gears and they work fine.
depending on the wear pattern, I might use them.
however, unless the price was REALLY low, and they had low mileage, id pay for new ones.

i'd buy new ones myself...one of those things i just want to KNOW they're good...
Take the cost of buying used gears, A
add the cost of replacing said gears when they fail, B
A + B = X..if X is more then the cost of doing it right..you don't buy them.
seriously though. the gears cost nothing to installation, so might as well get new ones with bearings and etc too

thanks for the input. ya im gonna buy new ones, i want to know for sure they are perfect, not taking any chances. if im gonna do it, i gotta do it the right way.
