I have a used alternator off my Cobra with around 12k miles on it . I orginally replaced with a PA because I thought the alternator was going bad . It ended up being something else because the problem remained the same .

Belt squeal I bet. I just did the same thing, replaced the ALT and the problem remained........

My problem was hesitation and I thought it was the alternator not keeping up because the battery light on the dash would flash when it hesitated . It ended up being my plugs not closed enough the plug gap was to open .
