Upper Pulley Vs Lower Pulley

HI i was wondering if it makes a difference if u change the upper or lower. I am going to change the lower pulley, someone told me that u will only get 1 pound of boost by changing the upper pulley. Will u get more hp by changing both

stick to changing the lower pulley. you will have less belt slip (if any overall) more belt surface area. there is also lower pulleys from 2-10lbs of boost

Plus the lower pulley doesn't require a special puller to change.

Just swapped out the lower pulley. You won't be dissappointed. I went with Metco's setup. Really nice setup with easy to follow directions. They even give you the tools to help you do the install. I got a #2 and #4 pulley. Running the #4 with a tune. In my personal opinion, a #6 over spins the Eaton too much. Friend blew his motor up with a #6. I will use the #2 when just driving to work and back. I will eventually get the #6 and #8 to put on my vehicle when the motor has either a KB or magnum powers on it and is built. You can order directly from Metco's, too. Later and hope this helps.

ford_lightning , changing both Upper & Lower Pulleys is a personal preference . You can benefit from either or. You might also want to consider going with a One Piece Lower Crank Pulley, verses the Interchangeable for cost savings etc. Check it out here:
