The title says it all.... is there any reason I shouldn't buy the steeda underdrive pulleys for my 98 cobra?
They seem to have good reviews... is it a noticable hp gain?

Just search "NASVT RECIPE" and you'll get the pulley recommendations. I still run the stock pullies and never really put much stock in them adding power but I AM going to get a set just to slow down my accessories at 7k.

Horror stories.. theyre hit or miss.

Do all other bolt ons first besides a TB and then if you want get pullies.

Ive done alot to my car but wont do pullies. Ive heard too many horror stories, man.

There are Two NASVT recipes that I gleaned from NASVT (Todd Warren) responses across the net and that he graciously approved. One is for B-head (1996-1998) cobras the other for C-head (1999-2001) cobras.

NASVT Recipe fixed!!!
NA ~300 RWHP with 96-98 DOHC B-Head 4.6L:
K&N filter
OEM Cams
March damper
March hydroboost and WP pulleys
Long tubes
Hi Flow Cats/Cat Delete mid-pipe
B-Head SRI
90mm LMAF
Tune (canned..more $ for real tuner tune)

350 RWHP:
106100/106060 comp cams properly degreed.
Tune.

March Fluid damper is fine for <7k RPM driving
Otherwise you are looking at ATI.
From what I have seen, Gains from Damper/UDP are in the upper rpm range.
They extend/grow the hp curve a bit..

NASVT is basically the "Tmoss" of intakes for the 4.6L... get one from him. There are intakes for the B heads made by a certain 3 letter company from Cali which will get you sprayed with a "down kitty" spray bottle if you mention them. And they are 100% shit. Don't fall for one. If you don't want to/don't have the money for a short runner b intake then just do the IMRC delete and tune around it, throw some 4.30s at that ****er and floor it. I'm still on the 3.27s and I wish I had had time to do gears before I moved to Spain. Either gotta learn to DIY it or buy an IRS pumpkin with pre-installed gears. Probably going to just buy the pumkin lol.

Any "horror" stories you hear are high RPM motors running small dampers.
Period.
No stockish/bolt on/street car can attribute a motor failure to UD pullies.

If you're still planning on a Kenne Bell, they're wasted money. You won't want to run them with the blower.
