Uh-oh. Another broken half shaft thread.

So...is this the fabled weak spot that we've all wondered if this car had? These shafts are SUPPOSED to be the 2000R shaft put in for strength. Could they be still not strong enough?

i've seen talk about carbon-fiber drive shafts. are carbon-fiber half-shafts not possible? or would something else [more-expensive] just break?

It doesn't matter how beefed the half-shafts are (ie GKN 31spline hardened steel), there is still the weak link area in the spider gears.
