I've got ASP pulleys and have never had a problem. Its not a piggyback system like some.

I run the "inferior" piggy back BBK's. No problems. I think as long as you get the crank pulley set correctly, you're fine. I just recently heard about all the shattered gears. Mine ain't broke so I ain't fixin it. Plus, I'm looking for an excuse to rebuild anyway :)

Not all Mach 1s shatter oil pump gears with u/d pullies either. Alot do though, but so do alot of 96-01 Cobras. I've even known of a few 2V GTs have have broken oil pump gears with Steeda u/d pullies. No Modular is immune, unless you're running a dry sump.

Slapping a damper on your car that has less damping ability than the stock crank damper is not a good idea on any engine, whether you have billet gears, dry sump, or whatever.
