I purchased the car a few years back and after driving it a short while, I realized things had to be changed, namely, the interior. As time moved on, I decided to change mostly everything lol.

Headlights were scuffed bad, so those were replaced. Oversized cobra emblem was replaced, etc.

The first thing I started on was the interior. Much of the interior looked like someone took a sawzaw and started cutting. The dash and essentially all trim was replaced. The cage was repainted and the interior was lined with sound dampener.

New dash cut to fit roll cage vs what was originally done. Saw-zaw is not your friend. Smdh. I found that the best way to cut the dash is by heating a blade with a torch and cutting it inch by inch. I must have measures half a dozen times. The second pic below really shows what happens when you absolutely don't care how it looks. I'll have more pics of the top side later when I begin reinstalling the dash, but I ended up lineing my cuts with felt tape to protect the edges from future disintegration. The roll cage foam should hide all of that.

Car originally had an hp front mount turbo system.

Garbage coil overs.

These were the 6765's. Sent them to precision for a rebuild/upgrade to 6766's and t4 housings.

Headers were a bitch to get off. The old studs had rusted a bit and several of the nuts were locked on. Ended up having to use my trusty dremel to get some off. That took quite a while.

So off came those in exchange for cgfab headers and fmic

Very nice so far. What wood did you use on the RSD? How much do you think it saves you in weight?

I used some .25" hardwood. Weight savings, couldn't tell you. Wood is decently heavy as I wanted to do it once and not worry with flexing or breaking. I coated the wood to protect it as well. The color matches really well, despite the pictures. Ordered the cobra engineering head fittings yesterday so I should be ready to start putting the motor back in this weekend.

Valve covers are on with arp hardware.

Intake on to see what it will look like.

An fittings were welded into the valve covers. Should be able to find an aluminum weld style fitting. Unfortunately, my buddy isn't the greatest welder, but I have a dremel to fix the imperfections and the powder coating hides the rest.

Cobra engineering head fittings are in. Appear to be quality parts. The supplied bolts quite weak, so anyone doing this, only snug them up. I ended up snapping the head right off the bolt when I was backing one out as it was beginning to bind. After further inspection, it appears that the previous owner must have done the same thing as the surface area around that particular hole was somewhat scuffed. Although one bolt and the hold down tabs and rtv would likely be sufficient, im not going to half-ass it, so I'll be driving it out. I tried to dremel a slot in the broken part to try and back it out with a flathead, but it's not budging. Just got home from knee surgery, so I'll be down for a couple of weeks. In the meantime, going to be ordering the remaining fittings for my coolant system and hopefully get the motor back in the car by the end of next month.

Few items taken care of before knee surgery. Put the padding in to avoid future headaches and removed the nipple from the back of the water pump in the intake valley. I'm going to tap it to run an line from the back of the heads.

I decided to remove the heater core and Ac after buying the headers for Ac. Reason for deleting heater core is bc I don't want to have to ever remove the dash again, and as we know, the heater cores like to crap out. I'm going to use some 90* fitting off the back of the cobra engineering fittings and t them into where the nipple was. No real benefit, other than using braided hose.

If you've installed the headers, anyway I could put the headers on and then drop the motor in? Space looks limited and I'm not a fan of tightening header bolts under the car. I figure I could at least get one side on and tilt the motor over and drop it in and then do the other side.

updated first post for build info. There's plenty of stuff I'm missing so I'll add it as I go.

Tapped the coolant passage with 1/2" NPT. Easy enough, but this is an area u want to take your time with. Next on the list is running coolant lines off the back of the heads and installing the timing cover accessories.

A few items arrived yesterday. Some of my fittings should show today. Front and rear arp wheel studs and expansion tank cap.
