Does anyone here have a bi-turbo set-up (can't call em twins) with one turbo being fairly small and the other very large? Just curious as to what the advatages or disadvantages are to this type of set-up. I have always read about them but never really seen them on the street. To me it makes a lot of sense to have bi-turbo's instead of twins since it can greatly reduce lag. Post some articles, vids, or pictures please :-D

It's called a sequential turbo system.

I've heard the benefits of it is having one turbo to spool the other, and I've heard the benefit is to have one turbo for low end and one for high.

From what I've seen/read, it's the latter.

I don't know anything about the setup but you would think it would be used for smaller engines that can't spool the bigger turbo up fast enough so a smaller one is used. I guess if the smaller one was a 67mm and the larger was an 76 or 88mm it could make sense. It may not have been done yet for a reason though, which is what I think Blown02 may be getting at.
