Hey guys I'm switching over from 17s to 18s and while I'm doing that I'm wanting a meaty tire out back, not only wider but taller then the front. I have an 02' GT that's been lowered roughly 2inches all the way around. I would like fit the biggest tire I can without rubbing (my fenders are not rolled atm). I did some research to sort of clear things up as far as what I'm looking at. Thanks for any help!

Here are two different tire setups I've planned out comment which one you guys think will work!

Stagger Setup Tires

Setup 1:
Nitto NT555 all
Rear - 285/40zr/18 26.98in
Front - 255/35zr/18 25.03in or 245/35zr/18 24.75in

Setup 2:
Nitto NT555 all
Rear - 285/35zr/18 25.85in
Front - 255/35zr/18 25.03in or 245/35zr/18 24.75in

New TSW Velincas dimensions:

Front: 18 x 8
Rear: 18 x 9.5

Thanks for the post.

The factory 245/45R17 tire is roughly 25.7" tall. (calculated not actual - actual tires size vary similar to shoes)

That said, all of the front tire sizes you are considering are about 3/4" - 1" shorter in overall diameter than the factory tire. You could physically run either of the two front tire sizes but you'll only be increasing the gap between your tire and your fender. If you like way the factory 245/45R17's fill the front fenders in terms of height I'd recommend going with a 245/40R18 for the front.

For the rear I'd recommend looking at the 295/35R18 size but this size may require some fender rolling. The 295/35R18 would be about 1/2" taller in diameter than the fronts.

Give us a call if we can help you more. Anyone here would be happy to assist you further. 1.888.459.4080.
