So i want/ need to get a new top and i wanted to upgrade to a cloth top.

I only need a top my window and headliner is fine but today one shop said i had to replace the rear window if i was changing fabrics. Does this sound right. Why cant they replace the fabric on the window?? That same shop also said my window was like 300 something dollars. I'm going elsewhere for a second opinion tomorrow but what do you guys think. I may just have to stick w/ vinyl.

Oh yea and would it be worth it to get rid of my rear defroster to get a cheaper window??? i saw a vert the other day w/o one and it looked cleaner. My car does have to get thru winters but we dont get much snow and the trucks i drive every day dont have rear windows? It would also be better for tint.

Good idea?

It should be no problem for a good upholstery shop. I pain $1200 for mine with the new glass.

If you look at the rear window, it has a small section that the glass is glued to that is the same fabric as the rest of the top, that's why you will need a new glass with the same fabric.
