Truetrac fitment?

Is there a truetrac that will fit the 03-04 irs? If so, what is the part #, and where did you buy it from?

If not, does anyone know of a gear type diff like the truetrac?

I've only found the ford racing diff so far and am wondering if anyone has experience with them? Ford Racing M-4204-T31 - Ford Racing Torsen Differentials - summitracing.com <-- this is the one in question.

nvm, I just spoke with a detroit rep and they've confirmed that there are no issues with a truetrac and a 03-04 IRS.

Yes an 8.8 is an 8.8 BUT the irs differentials have groves machined into the spider gears for the circlip on the halfshaft so when ordering one you have to make sure that they specifically say that it will fit irs cars. otherwise you would have to have the gears machined yourself

I installed one in my previous 06 Mustang GT with FRPP 4.10s. That diff is great, I was going to reinstall the trac-loc when I traded it in but I had already sold the old trac-loc. I will most likely put one in the Cobra once the stock unit is toast. Rebuild the trac-loc and sell that one too.

Those are the ones that Roush uses in the Trakpak cars and are for a 05-09. Is there no problems with them fitting in our 99-04 cars.

Nope, fit just fine with my 2003 IRS. S&R Performance in Tampa, FL did the install and said it was just fine!
