Yea I read all the side affects but wanted to try to “cheat” to get rid of some fat before summer. I stopped the injections. I did 2 months and couldn’t take it anymore. It made me so constipated and I felt like crap. I only lost about 5lbs in 2 months. I’m still on TRT. I’ll never stop that. Blood work was done right before I started the wegovy. Everything was good on the lab results. TRT 2x a week .8ml each time. I could barely eat on the wegovy so at work when I was doing something that required physical labor I would get dizzy and almost pass out. Today was the first day I was back in the gym since the beginning of march. It sucked, I’ve lost some strength and definitely stamina. I do not recommend wegovy or ozempic to try to cheat lol.

I don’t believe there is true cheat with regard to weight loss, getting lean. Gotta work and sweat for it. Just watch your calories and get in good cardio, you don’t have to go max effort either, that can actually be counter productive with regard to fat loss. Just get in a good sweat, don’t have to be gasping for air and outta breath. As far as things that may help some, provided you are putting in the work. Adderall, Lyrica, Metformin etc can all help a little, even some mild BP meds like Telmisartan..

I’ve got some metformin as well. What do you think is the best time of day for taking that?

Night time before bed usually. You could also just do it before meals. I am assuming you have ER/Extended release? Have you had elevated blood glucose levels while fasted? I haven’t had any trouble per say, but can get my doc to pen whip stuff like metformin, telmisartan etc. I like Temisartan, it does more than just control bp, can have some impact metabolically and also positively effects how lipids are deposited/distributed in your body. FYI OTC berberine is almost as effective as metformin. I tried both and used my glucose meter to verify the impact of both, very similar results with regard to blood sugar levels. I like both and think metformin is great and also does more than just control blood sugar, its got a very good track record and well tolerated.

Still waiting on my PCP appt but I see that I was at 583 8 years ago. Mid 40's now, is there a specific lab or draw type I should be asking for to get a good baseline???
Labs came back, I suppose Im good to go unless someone else cares to offer some insight. Not sure about the free test, cant recall if I had that checked before.

You are doing pretty good natty, at least as far as the range is concerned… but more importantly how do you feel. Most guys on TRT feel better, get symptom relief around 25+ free and total being around a 1000. However if you are feeling good, leave it alone.

You are twice what I was at and I was 32yrs old at the time. I wouldn’t do a thing unless you feel crappy…even then, make sure it isn’t something else. Glad to see your levels look good.

I feel pretty great but not my best and I know it. I think its mostly because Ive gained ~18lbs since Ive stopped running, if I had to pick a main concern I want relief from its weight gain and the difficulty getting down to my "fight" weight.

Am making more diet and workout adjustments and am consistently down 3lbs so far in 3 weeks now.

I love running, but years and years of it have beaten the shit out my knees. Look into an Air Assault bike or Rogue Echo etc.. FWIW plenty of Mens Wellness docs would prescribe even with those numbers if you wanted it. You might check into some telmeds.
If just want to dip your toes into the water you could try a pharmacy compounded testosterone creme. Very short half life, you just rub it on your nuts twice a day, AM/PM…

Been working mids and the gun belt after 20yrs has taken its toll.

Didn’t feel a thing taking the shot.

FWIW most doctors won’t even treat you with a testosterone total over 500. Srs.

Also if you lost the I’m assuming shit weight your test will actually go up some more.

If you are Srs about cutting weight Cut out all alcohol.

Do you lift? Or mostly running/cardio?

Best advice I can give you to losing shit weight is no meal over 500 calories and eat clean every few hours or so to hit your macro goals.
Shrinking your stomach is the key to long term weight loss. At first you will hate this and may give up but if you can outlast the hunger you will have potential.
And of course keep moving and stay active.

I can’t give you much more help over the webz but if you were local I’d help you in person.

Dude just about any wellness TRT clinic in the US would still prescribe him… including yours. I am not reccommending that course of action though. This is seriously why you have to really educate yourself on the protocols..because they don’t always have your best interest at heart. The goal of any business is to make a profit and this includes wellness/trt docs, betting the vast majority 99% would still write a script for those numbers if you said you weren’t feeling good. Guess what, many men really don’t feel good at those numbers. Think about who traditionally gets testosterone tested, older guys that feel like shit. That’s where those lab averages ****ing come from, 20-30 years ago the ranges were higher. They keep moving down in todays modern world.

Now your traditional family doc/gp doesn’t know dick about TRT and won’t treat anyone, good luck there. You may have slightly better luck with a urologist, some really do seem to care about this component when it comes to men’s health and well being.

Now that I have an idea what my labs look like I will monitor and see where a more serious diet and fitness regimen can get me.

Good to hear about the "shit weight" loss and its impact on T, the more motivators the better.

Ive given up alcohol in the past for 9 months at a time, never made an impact in my weight but that was about 8 years ago. I usually have 2-4 weak ass vodka/diet tonics a night.

Do you lift? Or mostly running/cardio?
I lift and do cardio, use to run a ton (30+ miles a week) but it hurts now so I just stationary bike or jump a weighted rope. The weighted rope hurts me every now and again so its not as consistent. I have up to 90lb dumbbells, 50lb and 75lb sandbags (125lb soon), adjustable bench, pullup bar, kettlebell pairs up to 35lb, other random bits of equipment. Current work out is as follows.

Lift days: 4 days a week with a 20-25 minute bike warmup, currently using push/pull variations focused on compound movements (been on this routine for ~8 weeks). Heavy upper body movements with light lower body movements 2X a week (one push day, one pull day). Heavy lower body movements with light upper body movements 2X a week (one push day, one pull day).

Since I work out at home and only have dumbbells up to 90lbs I am going to alter my push/pull and focus on Eccentric movements and see how that goes for the next few months. The last ~8 weeks I havent been lifting to failure but with this change I will be.

Cardio days: 3 days a week I get a 45+ minute bike (with one 10/20X8 Tabata, thanks for that) plus either grip training, weighted jump rope Tabatas or kettle bell training for about 15 minutes.

I dont see this changing unless when I get my weight back down some and hopefully can tolerate running again.

Waiting for the school bus M-F: I shadow box, grip train or jump rope.

Since Ive stopped running my muscle mass has really increased but my gut mass did as well, not happy about that and its my biggest concern.

I eat pretty clean and do all the cooking, about the worst thing is mac n'cheese for the kiddo every now and again. Have started intermittent fasting (16 hour fast/8 hour consume) and am down a few lbs and heading in the right direction, 5 down with 15 to go. This is week 3 and so far so good, my meals may not always be under the 500 cal point though. I havent been counting calories, just avoiding "fatboy" portions on my plate, Im big on fruits and veggies. Only drink water (60 ozs minimum) and coffee, excess sugar has been eliminated from my diet for a very long time. No sweet tooth. Im usually 12-16k steps by the time Im ready for bed, we have a contest every night at dinner to see who went the most steps by then.

I can’t give you much more help over the webz but if you were local I’d help you in person.
I appreciate the hell out of the advice, insight and offer, tons of great info from everyones shared experience in this thread.

I may pick one of those up, checked the foot print and its doable but I would have to ditch my stationary bike.

I know you mentioned telemed docs before, care to refresh my memory on which ones you know of or had experience with.

No nut creams for me, Im either going to be all in or all out.

I have used 3-4 telmeds in the past and Defy is the only one I recommend out of those. I have heard good things about others like Elevate etc, but have no first hand experience with them. RE: Defy they are easy to work with, not a fly by night operation, they have been around for years and have a real clinic in Florida. Some of these places online probably don’t even have a real brick and mortar clinic. There is also Dr Jordan Grant and he is here in Texas, but I believe you gotta see him in person for the first visit then telmed is good to go. I didn’t feel like driving 3 hours each way to go see him, but he is by all accounts a rock solid Doctor with regard to TRT and Urology etc.

No my place won’t help someone over 500. I’ve recommended some acquaintances go there and some were denied treatment. This was in the past so not sure if they still follow that protocol.
