Hey guys i havent been on in a long time
so tonight i am coming home and a nice duramax diesel flys by, as i catch up to him just to mess around we do it from a roll. So i punch it and bang all these poping noises are coming out of the motor. i take her home and see that there is my spark plug just lieing there on the head.
does anyone know what this might cost to fix, i think my threads are stipped, by the way it is a 2000 and i heard somewhere that it had shorter threads then the new ones. Anything will help me, please give me a clue on what it might cost>
thanks guys :)

ouch, rethreading can be a bitch. I would be more interested in knowing what caused the plug to come out like that.....

Mike that's a common problem on 99 - mid 02 Lightnings. Was it the third one back on the passenger side? I've heard they can helicoil the head without removing it. Luckily mine was covered under warranty. They replaced both heads with the newer style.

They changed the head design in mid to late 02. Deeper sparkplug threads.
