Had pulley upgrade, CAI, dyno tune...upgrades done.

Also had Aeroforce Interceptor Gauges installed.
Thought I was not gonna use car for week so
unplugged them.
Plans changed. Plugged them back and now getting
off readings. Plus a couple of other odd things with them.
I think some things got reset in the settings, maybe even
mixed up. Really odd.

Guess something happened when I unplugged or plugged em back.
Going to have the shop fix them as I have no clue
with gauges.

Is it ok to drive the car till then even if
I do some spirited driving?
Ok to leave the gauges plugged in?

I guess I'll keep the driving unspirited
just in case.

Why did you unplug the gauge anyway, but as long as you got the tune dialed in drive it all you want.

Instructions say to unplug if you are not going to operate the vehicle
for a week more and at the time I thought this was going
to be the case

They tuned the car at the shop.
Dyno tune.
I always wonder what ppl mean by having the tune
"dialed in".
While I'm good at understanding technical stuff,(besides
electronic tunes), I'm really bad at lingo.

Gauges only read what's going on correct?
Lol
Is anything done to the tune for the gauges?
That's why I wanted to make sure it's still ok
to operate the vehicle with the gauges being haywire.
I also didn't know if leaving them plugged in
could further confuse/mess them up.

Probably need to check the settings to make sure theyre still calibrated right. Or just unplug them , key off , open the door , close the door and plug them back in. Turn the key on and once they both light up start the car.

Do you have any add one to the gauges? (Oil press, fuel press)

If you do you need to removed the connector from the back of the gauge before pulling the obd2 cord. If this isn't done the sensor will lose its ground and not rearms properly. But all other gauge functions should work fine

The gauges have nothing to do with the tune. Aeroforce Interceptor is simply reading information from the OBD-II port. Whether it is plugged in or not will not affect your car.

Ok so I'm fine for driving then correct?

Zporta:
As far as add one...not sure entirely what you mean.
I had to get a wide band and MAP kit for the
AF ratio and vaccum/boost.
It does read the air intake temp I believe but
the MAP and widen and are the adds I had to get
I believe.

I'm not gonna mess with the gauges, just leave it
to the shop. I wanted to make sure that it was ok
to drive with them messed up though.

Mine has been acting up since my alternator died about a month ago, it comes on when it wants to... reads only what it wants (next to noting) and if you push the buttons it blacks out.

Mine (2 of them) get funny once in a while. I can't catch a cause pattern. But I can always get them fixed by unplugging them with the car off, then starting it up and plugging them in with the car running.

I think the setup settings reset on mine because it will ask for the slope/intercept for the AF and boost/vacuum.

powering on or off or re unplugging and plugging back isn't fixing it.
As I said I think the setup formulas have reset or
have gone odd on them.
I haven't nor am I gonna mess with them.
I'm gonna leave it to the shop I trust.

Interceptors tend to act up when you unplug them, which you have to do in order to load up a new tune. Random turn on/off, etc. What I find that fixes it every time is to start the car with the gauge unplugged, then plug it in again. Might be worth a try.

Tried that with mine and it didn't make any difference.

I know that the oil pressure sensor would fry if you unplugged it while the key was turned on. This is why Aeroforce now includes an inline resistor you have to install on the analog input wire.

I'm glad the 2013+ 5.0 has everything integrated into the dash cluster now. I do not want to fight an Aeroforce again.

Good catch! I put the resistor in along with the sensor, then promptly forgot about it.

My car has them and sits more than a week at a time and I've never noticed and issue. Why are you to unplug them? I don't recall reading that....

Unplug mine all the time and never had a poblem. I never unplug them with the key on though. Always ignition off and door open. Unplug and do whatever I need then ignition off and plug them back up. So far no problems.

I'm also reading if you have them installed in
a AC vent pod and run the heat, you need to insulate the back.
Anyone know how they want you to do this?
The instructions give no explanation.

Of course I haven't run the heat given I just
got them and its summer, but I need to see
if my installers did this or not, and if not
how they want you to do it exactly.

Pulled the gauge cluster out of mine today and found the plug on the back of the gauge was loose... pushed it in and everything works again.

I know mine come on even when the key is not in the ignition. I assume its when I walk by in the garage and the security system sensor comes on? I just got a new tune loaded so they were unplugged and I assume fine....not sure I did not do it as I had my installer do it. I still need to reset them as I had a boost sensor installed so they were unplugged completely for awhile. I'll eventually get around to fixing them when I have some time to sit in the car and do it. I'm half tempted to pull them and just get a few set gauges for just the items I need such as a/f, boost and oil pressure maybe?
