Has anyone else been watching the sale on VMP GEN3R for 1k off, 3500$ for a head unit. I have a 2010 trinity, 123 jlt, baps, 2.5 hpipe, 2.4pulley, twin 67mm tb, 52lb 2013 injectors, boostane and my car made 707/706tq on stock bottom end.

Its so temping to buy the head unit but hard to justify the $$ when I would need ID1000s also for 4500$ total. The price of used Trinity's could be 1600-1800. which would help offset some of the cost. I would like to get another 50hp or so easily. Running the GEN3r on a 2.8 pulley with room to grow. Also the GEN3R would make 1100hp easily on a built engine.

Headers/Install is probaly $2500
Cams/Install is probaby 3-4k

Thoughts?

3R does make 1100rwhp on a built engine.
You’ll benefit from a Trinity to 3R swap but it may only be 50rwhp tops. If your stuck on pump gas with Boostane, that’s more of your limit than the 2.3 blower.
Also realize the boost curve of the 2.3 better matches your stock cams and you’ll probably have more torque and street response with maximizing the Trinity combo. Do you have access to E85?

I would focus funds on 1). doing a full bolt on car. 2). build motor first 3). buy a 13/14
I was in the same boat as you, only with my '13.
I shucked my new 3r. $ spent to power gained ratio wasn't worth it
I now just have a full bolt on car, see sig. Very happy
What state are you located in? curious

@fordfx584 could probably chime in with real world #'s and stuff on a stock 5.4 setup

Thanks for the reply. Looking at your sig, you have LTH and 3.73 different than my car.

Yep, I bought @1Kona_Venom's never installed Gen3R and started obtaining all the other necessary components to include ID1050'S, Kooks full exhaust ect.. ect... Below is my numbers on a hot ass hell Florida day with a 2.8 and a tuners morning after monitoring all parameters. In our recent weather I can easily be around 715-720 range I'm sure. Attached is a pic of my to do list written in chicken scratch to get an idea of parts installed.Im happy with the car currently and am focusing on suspension when I get time between life and a 4 year old. I still have to get the RXT installed and I'm sure other little things.696rwhp 665 rwtq

Well, I also have the 5.8L vs your 5.4L too
3:73 gears are the way to go in any 2010-2014. Feels like horsepower but cheap to get into. Headers should be the very last thing.

Amazing car. Are you on 93 pump or race gas or octane booster?
