trailer lights

I have a 99 f350 psd. All the sudden it seems like the trailer lights have a bad gd or something brakes included. I have cut behind the Factory 7 way trailer tow wire to elimmate that connection even cut the electric brake controller loose still exists and this is on # different trailers! The only thing I have noticed is the ABS light comes on somestimes. Any connection? Thanks

Have you traced the wiring harness for any obvious splices, or possibly worn through wires??
