I cannot wait to start throwing some parts at it this winter and get back to the track in the spring!
Well it was our local tracks last day open for the year, and I was really curious what the GT500 would do in stock form, now that I have a couple hundred miles on it. So my good buddy BiminiLX and I headed up around 8am this morning. I started off a little sketchy, this is a difficult car to launch! I ended up bogging the car so hard that it stalled the first pass, the second pass I left with a little more RPM and spun horribly, and ended up with a 12.2 @ 118.x, I was kind of concerned with the low mph, so I spoke with J (BiminiLX) a little on shift points and he advised me that I was shifting the car at way too low of an RPM, so for the third pass I launched with a little less RPM, and went a 2.0 sixty foot but shifted the car a little higher (around 6800 I'd say) and netted myself a 11.69 @ 125.61. I decided to drop tire PSI a little, so we dropped the Nittos down to 15 psi, and I gave it one last attempt, and banged out an 11.49 @ 125.26 with a 1.8 sixty foot. Needless to say I am MORE than happy with the performance of this car bone stock. I cannot wait to start throwing some parts at it this winter and get back to the track in the spring!
