That can't be right. If it is then that guy just got the deal of the century. I'm skeptical of E-bay, I've only bought a couple of small things there but had problems every time and never got one of the items.

It said they auction was ended early. So who knows what it really sold for. They could have agreed on a price over the phone, then ended the auction. I really doubt any new car dealer sold a car for 16000 less than it cost them.

Check his feedback history. Quite a few of the purchasers only have 1 or 2 feedbacks. I'd be VERY skeptical.

The redfire Cobra next to it didn't meet reserve at around $30,000. I am sure the $15,000 number is not correct.

Something isn't right here or they pre-planned it to go through ebay.

1. Auction starts but normally won't be seen by the public for at least 30+ minutes afterwards.

2. Receives bid within 18 minutes of auction starting.

3. Auction ends 4 minutes after the bid is received.

4. Positive feedback is given to buyer 90 seconds after end of auction.

5. Seller apparently has car shipped within 12 hours from Buffalo to NYC and runs to computer to post positive feedback..

6. Who the hell is Scott & Jen? Everyone is thanking them as if they had met them in person. If I'm selling something I rarely list my name and my spouse in the ad. As if the buyers all call them up on the phone. "Hi this is Scott, wait, Jen wants to talk to you too".

7. Notice how the Seller responds to every feedback on himself as if he is selling the buyers on the experience after the fact.

8. The other auctions this guy has all lasted 1-2 days max too.

I say we all start e-mailing this guy.

That is the full entire VIN. All 17 characters are there:
1FAFP48Y23F324971
It is for a 2003 Cobra. Who knows if that is in fact the one that was sold, but it is a valid VIN.

not at my post...
The dealership is just advertising, they of course have no intention of selling at that price, thus the auction ending early.

Wow if what you say is true that would be an illegal auction?

I hate ebay. Buying 35 thousand dollar cars off the internet isnt my thing. I can see if it is from a dealer, that someone would do it, but not from some random person selling it independantly. I dont know, just kinda skeptical of the whole EBAY thing.

I'm not going to do anything about it.

I was just amazed by this thread and how someone is manipulating the ebay process to make the cars look like they were purchased cheap.
Buyer beware

I have purchased a few things on Ebay with excellent results. Ya just have to check out the sellers feedback for good responses from established long term ebayers.
