toluene/xylene anyone use these

Has any of you used or use Toluene or Xylene as a octane booster?
any pros or cons you know of

ive used toluene in my 2.3lturbo gt vert .but its about as cheep to use torco.but it did work ok it cured my detination at 18lbs of boost on hot days i have a small intercooler but when its hot it needs some help

It's a cheap old school method but there are better alternatives these days, especially with the prevalence of e85, or methanol/h2o injection systems.

Would rather put Torco in my tank than paint thinner,octane for octane the torco is cheaper

Xylene is about $19-20 a gallon. You need a 30% mixture to MAYBE get 99 octane. That's 1.5 gallons to every 5 of 92. Lets not forget that most pump gas now contains 10% ethanol.

So you end up paying $9/gal for a fuel that you really don't know the consistency of. Why not just go buy pump 110 for less? Even better, e85?
