Does this sound like a tob issue?

I blew 4th gear up in my borg warner a few months ago. Luckily we had a tremec t45 laying around so we swapped it into my car we know it worked perfectly before today, Its popping out of 4th gear its had mayve 150 miles on it since i swapped it.

90k mile trans.

Where it gets weird is before i blew up 4th gear in my borg warner it was doing this same exact thing. It doesnt grind or anything....

sounds like maybe a bent shift fork not sliding the gear into place properly

But if it wasn't trans related what could it be? Like would a quadrant could it cause this?

If its only popping out of 4th it has to be something only common to 4th gear. For example a bent Shift fork or misadjusted shifter stop if you have a aftermarket shifter. A tob, clutch, cable is common to all gears.

Oh ok i see what your saying. I was told it could be my shifter so imma try putting in a different shifter today.

You may not need a new shifter , if your shifter is stock only thing you can do is swap it for a known good one and try that , if your shifter is aftermarket you could adjust the stops and see if there is any difference , if neither works it is internal , probably a bent shift fork like someone else said . Good luck , hopefully it Is the shifter , less work to fix !

Well I just swapped the shifter out ill see how it drives in a bit. Where can I get a rebuild kit that's decent for my spare borg warner
