To stop the hop..IRS build up or solid axle?

Noob here....please limit the giggles.
I have an almost 100% stock 04.
Still has stock Goodyears, stock wheels and all stock IRS.
Has only a few mods but does have Global West subframe connectors.
To stop the damn hop......
Which way should I spend my money...IRS build up or solid axle?
Please include thoughts of total cost, weight differences, handling, ride quality issues, etc.
