Bought 17X10.5 rims and have Niito 555R 315-35 ZR 17's on it now.
I've been through two sets or Nitto Drag Radials and the 555 didn't wear much better. I put spacers on the wheels because the clearance was minimal and I didn't want to take the chance of pinching a tire if it got low or I cornered it too hard. What brand and sizes do you recommend for these rims. Would like a little more wear with minimal traction loss.

Thank you for the post ClarryL. We would be happy to help.

How many miles did you see out of your 555R's? How many miles did you see out of your 555 Extreme's?

About 8,000 on the drag radials and I have 16,000 on the 555 Extremes which is a lot more than I thought I had till I got out the invoice for the install. Are the 315-35 17's OK on the 10.5 inch rims or am I wrong-sizing them too?

Size 315/35-17 is perfect for a 10.5" wide wheel. In this size thouugh, you don't have a wide option of tire models to choose from and most model in this size are competition geared or R-Compound race tires. The NT555 is the best option for performance and longevity. That being said, if you want extended life without sacirficing a lot of performance, you would have to drop down to tire size 285/40-17 and most models in this size are approved for a 10.5" wide wheel. IMO, stick with the 315/35-17 NT555 Extreme.
