tire sizes

What's the smallest diameter tire I can put on a 9" rim? I need to only replace the front tires. Should I go with a 265 or can I get a 255 on them?

im pretty sure a 255 will work, but check around some more

245 is the absolute smallest I would run. I believe the 95' R's had 245's. I would put a 255-275 size tire if it were me.

R's were factory 255/45 with wise, 245.... and ive seen 215 in a 9 inch wheel....... want pretty at all... more of a saftey hazard

A 255/40 is only roughly a 1/4 inch difference in sidewall height compared to a 255/45.

17x9 wheels with 245/45/17's on the front and 275/40/17's on the rear.

245 are the absolute smallest. I wouldnt go smaller than 255 though.
