hey guys my girl is gonna buy a 09' bullit and wanted 18x9 and 18x10. i looked at nitto's extreme 555. they have two sizes for the rear 285x40 and 295x45. which would be better? does one get streched so to speak on the rim than the other? or does one become wider? sorry for the stupid questions, just new to the s197 crowd and

i have 285/40/18s on my car and looks good as well as great traction.
BF goodrich KDW 2's. Nice side wall and thread width from the back. Have you tried the Nitto 555 extreme before? I have 410 to the wheels in my s197 and tires were HORRIBLE. Went to micky Thompson ET drag radials and will never go back to Nittos. Plus they make same size as Nittos. Just my opinion.

I would need 3 sets a season if I were running the M/T on the street. I run Michelin Pilotsport PS2 275/40 18"

ive actually heard that the 555 extreme's where pretty good for the price and alot better than the stockers. the car she'll have will be around 315 to 330 hp. the 285x40 sounds like the right tire for the 18x10. now as for my car im at 421hp and may go up this year to a pulley....haha i may have to buy a street tire its a dd.

go with the 285/40, as stated the 295/45 is way to tall.

255/45 front 285/40 rear is the perfect set up

I have 285/40's on the back and 255/45's on the front with Goodyear Eagle F1s (same as GT500) and I love the setup. I also have people saying how good it looks all the time, plus no rubbing issues. A 295 will probably rub or compromise the side wall strength too much.

in this tire set-up the front tires are slightly taller than the back tires and takes some of the rake out of the car.

I run 305/30/18 Nitto's on the stock 18x9.5 wheel they are very close to the stock tire height that came on my Shelby. No rub and the look good on the car IMHO.
