The front wheels are the same width as the rears. 9.5"

285/35/19 tires should fit.

I've been reading that 285's will fit with no rubbing... the fact that you are going from 40 to 35 should help a bit...

Realize that a 35 aspect ratio is going to be shorter than the OEM tire by about .5" (26.9"). I have 285/40-19s on the front of my car. They are taller than the rear OEM tires, but are closer in height. Tires can be expensive, make sure you know what impact the change in aspect will do to you. A 275/40-19 might be a better fit.

Well they are used tires I had hanging around, they are the original rear tires, I'm about to mount them on the car now, if they don't fit it only cost me 15 for the mounting not a big deal

No rub, all is good.
I always though that the aspect ratio was based of the with of the tire so a 235/40/19 would have a similar height as a 295/35/19.
These tire sizes are just for an example.
