Tire selections

For all you fellow HD owners, what is the widest tire i can put on a 2002 HD rim. I believe it is a 9" rim. Can i go with a 315??
I want to run either BFG's or Nittos.:shrug:

I'm checking into rims for my Lariat and kinda wondered if any guys with HD's were running bigger rubber. If you want check www.nhtoc.com they seem to have alot more HD info and also alot more activity as well.

315's will fit, but you may have some minor rubbing on the front when turning with the wheel at full lock. Some guys are running the new version of tire that Cooper just put out. There was a thread on it about 3 months ago with a source of supply link attached. They are supposed to be a much better tire than the stock GY GT II's.

Thanks for the link Rainman!! My thoughts were to run a close to stock size in the front and a wide as possible tire in the rears for obvious reasons!!!!

I'm personally waiting for the new Nitto NT420s to come out.

I'm positive that a 305/40r20 is the largest tire you can SAFELY put on out 20X9 rim. You can get a Nitto NT404 in 305/40. The pic below is a side by side shot of the stock 275 & the 305.

thanks 09051, great pics. think i'm gonna go that route. hey, what is the average cost to fix a flat on yalls truck. i was chagred about $27 at a local Big 10 tires. sucks
