Hey guys I'm trying to pick some good tires for the new RT-S wheels I got for my 2014 GT last night and I'm just wondering which tire/size would work best for me.
I ran 265/40-18 ET Streets on my stock 18x8 wheels last year and did great with them just slipping the clutch off the line at the track and ran 8.02s (1/8th) basically stock with a Roush axleback.
I know radials aren't good with a manual but the only bias ply I'm seeing in a 17 is a 28x11.50x17 ET Street R. Isn't that too much tire for what I'm looking for? I'm not very familiar with those size tires.
But I'm also looking at 315/35-17 NT05Rs and ET Street Rs. Also a 305/45-17 ET Street R which is what I'm leaning towards with that slightly taller sidewall. But I can also get a 10% discount on those $198 NT05Rs through my work which would help a lot but they have a thinner sidewall. I'd really prefer to stay around $250-$290 a tire or less.
Any advice would be great, thanks
